The Telephone Historical Centre opened for business at Edmonton’s Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre in 1987 by a group of retired ED TEL employees, becoming a popular attraction among visitors of all ages. The Gridley Museum of Independent Telephony in Illinois was created by active and retired telecom professionals with a passion for preserving independent telephone history in their local community. It houses one of North America’s largest collections of antique telecom equipment ranging from wooden box phones and candlestick wall telephones to working central office switchboards and two position Kellogg universal switchers.
